Writing T3 W9 Reflection

This week for writing we had to write about embalming and wrapping of a mummy and when we finish that we had to write an object summary with a partner so I did it with Alex.

This week for writing we had to be a explorer on google maps and find out information about a place. For my place I did the Eiffel tower. To find my facts I went on to goggle maps and looked at the Eiffel tower then if I found something interesting I would search it on the internet to get the answer but I need to check a few sites to see if it was exactly the correct answer. 



This week we also played a game called earth picker. On that game you will be put on a map In 1st person. You would need to find the place on the map and you will need to get as accurate as you can.

reflection week8

 Word work 

This week we had to do word work. This is my word work that I did.

Maths 

For 24x5 I put 20 x 6 in the bracts and for the second bract I did 4x6 Then I put in 120 then 24 then i added all of them up and  got added up and it equals 144. 

Writing 

This week we had to improve our writing and I had to put in more punctuation.

This week we had to fill in all of these question and explain what we  think of it.

Reflection Week 7

Reading
This week we had to do comprehension and infer and support with evidence and this was very fun to do for work infer means to guess , speculate and surmise.


Writing
This week we had to write about a emotion but we could not say a the emotion in the story can you tell me what my emotion is in the comets.



Word work
This week we had a challenge to put all of it in to an paragraph with all of the words in it .

Writing 
This week we had to do a piece of writing that was like a a news paper article on Charlotte’s web  I had to use punctuation because that is my goal.

Numeracy 
This week we had to create a screencastify. By using web paint we had to do a equation and work it out with rounding and compensating. We had to explain the process in our screencastify.







Reading 
This week we had to do punctuation I found this very hard to do. We played a punctuation game where we had to add the correct punctuation. I enjoyed playing this but found it challenging.

I learnt lots about spiders this week. My goal this week was to improve my punctuation in my writing.

Dear Mum and Dad

I hope that you are both ok. I am missing home and hoping that the war will be over soon so I can return.

War in Gallipoli is so fierce. Bullets are flying all day. One of the soldiers in my unit just got hit. I ran over to him and we wrapped up his leg to try and stop it from bleeding. We got him to a medic back at the camp. He was taken to surgery straight away but sadly he did not make it.

I have not been hit yet  but there has been a few close calls.  The frontline is getting closer each day.

Thank you for sending the package from home with the biscuits in it and the letters from all of my friends and family. I really look forward to getting mail it helps me get through the days here.

I miss you all and look forward to hearing from you again soon.

Multiplication Strategy: Doubling and Halving

We can simplify some multiplication problems using doubling and halving.

1. Use the strategy of doubling one factor and halving the other to help simplify and solve the following problems: Example: 5 x 16 = 10 x 8 = 80 or 5 x 16 = 10 x 8 = 20 x 4 = 80

a) 5 x 68 = 350

b) 3 x 16 =  48

c) 16 x 30 = 480

d) 18 x 40 = 720

e) 35 x 20 = 700

f) 25 x 16 = 400

g) 50 x 24 = 1400

h) 500 x 28 = 14,ooo

2. Does this strategy always work? No only on even and odd not just odd

Explain when the strategy of doubling and halving is useful to simplify a multiplication problem.

A man in Maracay, Venezuela, has taken the record for world’s largest feet in the latest addition of Guinness World Records.

Jeison Orlando Rodriguez Hernandez has a right foot measuring 3.79 inches (9.62 cm) and his left foot measures 3.59 inches (9.12 cm).

The newest edition of the Guinness World Records book was released on the 9th of September, 2015, and Jeison is one of the lucky record holders to be recognised.

An old rusty car.

My name is John and  I am very poor. One day my  car broke down by a  farm.I got out and opened my car bonnet. I say’’ damn it i go to the farm’ I knock on the front door but nobody  comes.   I see an old man in a car . I say’ hey you there could i borrow your car mine broke-down down the road could you see if you could fix it. Also someone  stole the tread on my tires and wrecked all my rims. A big dint is in my door. The night is falling, the clouds are rolling, in suddenly its dark .oh no where am i going to sleep. I Know i can ask the farmer, knock knock, could i  please  sleep in your house? The next day i hear something outside. i will hitchhike.oh no its a super duke he will not pick me up so i walk down the road  there is a dirt road i will follow it  on a dirt bike.he sprayed me with mud.I will go find the farmer and ask him if he needs help on the farm.to say thanks.
